I loaded some 270 gr RCBS SAA boolits for my .454, and a few 255 gr RCBS boolits for my .45 Colt with Red Dot.

Then I loaded a few rounds for my .308 until I ran out of bullets.

I didn't load anything. I rearranged the man cave to accommodate the oak gun cabinet that I traded for, added a shelf in the top of it for pistols/TC Encore and went to text study, had a collegial conversation with a fellow pastor about a visit from last night, and helped three confirmation students transpose hymns for their instruments for Mother's Day weekend.

A total of 40 reloads for initial velocity & group testing of the new Alliant 300-MP (Magnum Pistol) powder using 97:1.5:1.5 alloy for the following rifle calibers

* 8.15x46R (BACO 316180) for 1920 Aydt
* 32-40 (Saeco 723) for CPA 44 1/2 Stevens
* 38-55 (Ideal 375272) for Uberti HiWall
* 38-55 (Ideal 375166) for ditto

Not your normal reloading, wouldn't you say? Especially with bullets from Ideal molds that haven't seen the light of day for over 50 years! :happy dance:

I loaded a bit over 1,000 45 acp 185 gr swc in the morning and then this evening loaded up 50 308 win with 180 gr SMK.

Dillion 1000's are very nice to load on. I wish I owned one or two. A friend let me load on one of his today. Very nice!

My intent is to take two .303 British rifles to Alberta in November for white-tail and elk.

One rifle is my new Ruger #1, and the other is a gorgeous #1 MkIII sporter from 1914.

I'll do all the load work with the scoped Ruger, because my vision is 'iffy' for iron sights...even sights as good as the Lyman 48 on the Mark III.

So.... I loaded fifty rounds of NOE 316299 over 40.0 IMR4350, CCI 250 Magnum primers, to allow enough rounds to get a basic zero and start the development process. I want to find a load in the 2100fps area, which will be close to the original 215-grain factory load. I've killed enough moose with such ballistics in the .303 to have complete faith in them.

The actual hunting loads will employ my cast softpoints, with about 30% of the bullet weight being pure lead.

My belief is that by developing the best-possible load for the scoped rifle. I can then use it with the MkIII's iron sights with no more worry than buying a box of factory ammo off the shelf.

Two-inch groups at 100 yards will suffice for the big Alberta critters, since my self-imposed range limit is 200 yards. Better accuracy than that would be very nice, of course.

I am in the process of load development for my 300 Weatherby Mag for an up coming trip to South Africa later this summer. Load I am working on now is the 165 gr. j-word bullet with 76 grains of H4831SC for estimated velocity of 3100'/s. I am doing all my shooting off a tripod at 175 yards.

Something different.

I loaded 20 rounds of .42 Russian Berdan and 50 rounds of .44 Russian; both with black powder. To top that off, all I use is a pair of Lee Reloader single stage presses (the little ones) and the .42 Berdan is a giant of a cartridge using 74 grains of FFG black powder. I bought the little press to try out reloading and found it works fine on small and large cartridges, but I only neck size the big brass including .43 Egyptian.

I've gotten too many toys lately so I just played around with my new Lee 4-20 pot and later put together some ammo for the range tomorrow. Mostly, 38/357 loads with HS-6 and Universal with the 158 and 170 gr SWC's along with some I cast last week with the new Lee 358-158 gr RF. Tomorrow will be the first time testing them.

Well yesterday I loaded up 50 rounds of 22/250Imp, all with those nasty J-Bombs (20 with 40gr Sierra BlitzKing, 15 with 36gr Barnes Varmint Grenades and 15 with 55gr Berges Varmint). I took them to the range today and used 2 of the Sierra BlitzKings to shoot my Chrony. Don't ask how I did it cause I got no idea. The rest of them showed promiss, some good groups in spite of wind and mirage.

I'm new to casting. A few days ago did about a dozen 22 bator, 22 mold #225462, and lee mold c309-150f haven't hit the range yet. Learning how to do the formulas, mixing ww with lead and see what happens. I'm not the sharpest knife in the drawer when it comes to math.

Well last night I rolled off 300 .44 mags with 10 grains of Unique, Federal 150 under 503's casted from the new brass mould casted 50/50 ww/pb with 2% tin lubed with BAC sized .431, it's my simply boring, pleasant yet powerful enough to get done shootsand feeds in 7 different revolvers and 1 rifle do everything with load.
Boring or not it works, the LNL is great (have 3, one set up for 45 acp only, one for small primers, one for large for other than 45 acp). I have limited hobby time working 50 plus hours a week plus family time, so speed with accuracy and quick changover is important.

Well it finally warmed up enough to get outside and do some smelting. I ran out of bullet ingots after casting for my 45LC and now it's time to start casting for my wifes' 38 special loads. Hope to get out to the range this afternoon (when it warms up) and get in a little bit of practice. It was a long winter, sure is good to feel some warmth for a change.

The kids and I loaded 393 9x19 for my new pistol. Well, I loaded and the kids squabbled over who would box them for me..

393 was the number of cu-plated rn 125grainers I had left in a drawer and didn't expect to use as I've got my other 9 on a boolits only diet.
Now they're going to feed my new Luger. New-to-me that is, the gun is three times as old as I am as it was manufactured in 1906..

That is so mind tickling. It may even have seen use in both world wars. The first one for sure.

It even has a .355 shiny bore and high sharp lands..[smilie=w:

Last week my son and I loaded 600 WW 124 gr 9mm's with bullseye. We use two rcbs press's and work as a team.

The cool thing is, In the garage, we have two 32" white oak logs that we test fire our handguns into. you have to keep the garage door shut though.
Those fresh cut oak logs are really dense, they easily stop 7.62x54r rounds.

I spotted a REM 03-A3 4 groove all original, save an Ogden refurb. cartouche on the stock, slung over the shoulder of a fellow just before he walked into last weekend's gunshow. well finally got the gorse out of my pocket and bought a new 4 ring gas burner for the BBQ gas bottle and melted down a large quantity of ingots whose origins are long forgotten.
I was getting sick of making up small batches of 40/40/10 mix for my IHMSA pistols. One brew does all.
I made 80 Gem ingots with about another 200 still to go. Then its on to the raw wheel weights that need smelting. Roll on Easter. Peter.
