Ran out of lube, surprised

Not sure how many bullets I lubed, Put in one tube, ran a few bullets. Then put in the Second tube and barely able to put the Air feed back. Was a tight fit. So thats two solid core tubes for about hundred 9mm bullets. Loaded maybe a thousand mode and lube grooves started comming up dry. Added more lube and all is good. All lubed bulets were either 9MM single groove or 10 MM single groove.

My question is per the Magna star url , i go the impression that one tube would do 1500 bullets. Am I way off base on the number of bullets per tube of lube. white label Carnauba Red.

Regardless i am a happy camper.

Something's not right. I can do 1K .45's with double grooves.
Now I do melt and pour my lube in the reservoir, but that shouldn't make that much difference.

I'm thinking the whole deal is the size of the lube gruv. I'm only doing the bottom gruv on the 452460 and the RCBS 200gr SWC. But then the H&G 68's have a much larger gruv and the H&G 130's, the same. I guess I got about 1K boolits done, altogether. enjoy Mike

I have a 38-55 mould, a LYman that was modified before I sent to Magma for larger OD and bigger lube grooves for BP, and I can only get about 600 or so from a tube of LBT. Might even be closer to 500. Less for a tube of SPG. To convince my self that the lube wasn't going into twilight zone, I ended up weighing bullets before and after lube, then weigh lube sticks. all the conversion form ounce to grain, blah blah.took my limited menta capacity an entire evening.,,,,,,,,,Ended up it came out very close,,,, my wife came by my bench, and blurted, well dummy, if it's not going on the floor it has to be going in those little slot thingies.

I get approximatly 1,100 H&G new #68's and 900 old style #68's from a stick of Magma lube in a Star. For 9's I get almost 2,000. For the Lyman #401638 40-175-TCBB I get about 1,300.

I lube H&G #275 09-125-SWCBB and H&G #309 09-125-RCPB. Also a Saeco # 115 09-122-RNBB.
