Bullet weight formula for making a mold

Is there a formula to use to give me a ball park figure weight for the cavity of a bullet mold ( when making a mold) ? To know how deep to make the cavity for a given cal for certain weight needed.

Thanks that will get me in the ball park. I was wanting to try to make a 220 gr. 30 cal push thru type mold for paper patching.

I have a push out mould for my .303 that measures 1.325" long and is 215 grs.

That should be close depending on nose profile and body diameters. Mine is kind of fat at 0.310" nose and 0.318" groove diameter body.

longbow Thanks for the information. I was thinking about 1 1/2 inch cavity should give me the most common weights use in the 30 cal . as you said depending on the nose profile.
