1 shot then adjusted down as much as I could and to the left a few clicks. The load is 24.0gr of H110 and the average velocity from the 4 5/8 is 1180fps. Once I add some to the sight(or simply replace it) I'll see what it will do.

The recoil was not nearly as bad as my OM Super loaded with 300 gr HP's over 22gr of H110. Still can't figure out why, as the 45 is a lighter revolver.

What's the bullet weight?

Somewhere between 300 and 310. I didn't take the time to dial it in on my 1010. I took the load off Linebaugh's website under the 45 Colt writings.

50/50 WW/Pb

That is a great looking bullet. Looks pretty darn accurate as well.

I don't exactly know why either, but I can tell you I'd much rather shoot a "Ruger only" .45 Colt load than a "standard .44Mag" in a Blackhawk, preferrably a Bisley.

The 45 Colt operates at lower pressure than the .44 Mag., even with Ruger only loads. That translates into less muzzle blast, and force, and makes the recoil seem more managable.

I don't know the OAL, but the nose to crimp is .460", so a dummy round loaded with that length sticking out of the case should tell you weather it will cycle.

I will see if I can put some thing together to try out. BTW...What is the OAL of these?

Well I made 2 dummy rounds, and they are too long by about .060" too feed. Making a few more in different sizes, it looks like a total length of 1.655" is max for a Rossi in 45 Colt.

Though it may load fine in the 454 Casul version.

So this round won't do me any good, shame too.
