Yep! Never thought I'd do it, but I finally gave in! I bought an old Marlin 1894 in 44Mag! There is potatoes growing under the sight hood and between the Bbl and mag tube and the Bbl is really dirty between the lands (M/G Bbl). I have a 92 in 44Mag (as well as a 357) and it is a good rifle, but the sights are really crappy. I guess I'll put that on th eblock now.

The serial No. is 211598XX. Does that mean it was made in 1979?

1979 is correct for date. Mine was made the previous year and is rapidly becoming one of my favorites. I have been using the Lee C430-310 pushed along with either WC-820 or H-110 for 2" groups at 100 and it also is accurate with RCBS 44-225 SWC. Only problem I'm having is, whenever I go out to shoot, I never have enough ammo because, it's like Lays Potato Chips. One is never enough! :-D -JDL

Well, how's she shootin'?

Is it the microgroove or ballard rifled bore?
