Got a question fer ya all...

Does anyone else use these molds? I have a single cavity 316475 that I've used for quite some time for my oversized 30 cal military rifles. So I came across a double cavity 318475, price was right, so I bought it. Not to often that you would find a double cavity in this rare design so I considered myself lucky. Casted up some from the double and they drop right around the same as the 316475, .319. Great. Went to go put a 30 caliber gas check on the bullet and it wouldn't even dream of taking it. So of course I grabbed a 32/8mm check and sure enough a perfect fit. Slides on easy but snug enough to hold on before it's crimped.
If anyone else has the 318475, does it take the 8mm check also? The mold is unaltered and has not had the shank opened up, I'm sure of it. Is it possible that 316 and 318 are different molds, and not just a change in the lyman numbering scheme, like 308 vs 311?

Thanks, Dan

IF the last 3 numbers are the same it's supposed to be the same design. The first 3 are related to expected diameter in #2 alloy. But, we all know diameter is what it is and Lymans cherries aren;t all ground the same so there is a lot of variation across the run of a mould.
