I have an Enfield No 4 MK I* whose bore slugs at slightly over .314 and am interested in suggestions for a 200gr or so Gas Check mold. At the moment I am using a Lee C324-175-1R and sizing to .314 gas checked. No leading at 2000fps and decent groups but this mold drops bullets at 155gr with some #2 Alloy I got at a gun show and the rifle does not feed them particularly well. I am considering the Lyman #314299 mold which is a .314 GC mold. If I decided to shoot them as cast and pan lube should I seat the GC before or after lubing??

My suggestion is to get in on the NOE group buy in progress and get a 0.316" diameter:

or jump in an pick up one of these right now:

I started on .303 with a borrowed Lyman 314299 that cast at 0.311" so not too good then I bought a Lyman 314299 that cast at 0.312" so still undersize for my 0.314" groove Lee Enfield. I had to lap that one out to get it to cast at 0.315". Lyman seems to have a habit of making undersize moulds.

I recently bought two NOE moulds. They are very well made and best of all cast on spec. My 316299 casts a hair under 0.316" and shoots very well out of my gun.

I also bought the 0.314" x 129 gr. and it cast right on 0.314".

Heartily agree.

Go for the NOE, my Lee Enfields love them. :-D

CBE in Australia make a good range if oversized 303 projectiles. I use a 314.190 and on ebay he has a 315.216 to duplicate the original 303 boolit.

There's another good suggestion.

I don't have any CBE moulds yet but I hear all good things about them so they are on my list.
