RCBS-menting

I know people cringed in horror when they read the thread title, but it had to be done.

I had a RCBS 115 gr rn mold that cast beautiful boolits, but was very stubborn about releasing them. So I took some mothers aluminum polish and some boolits and polished the cavities. Now the boolits jump out like they're happy to do it.

Sounds like another good fix. i seen where another guy used a slurry of Comet. I have used fine steel wool on the end of a piece of dowel rod and spun it in my drill. I have also have very good luck with NEI mold prep.

I have a 40 caliber 200 grain RCBS mold that i'd love to cast bigger bullets.

No reason to cringe at all. Sometime a mould needs help. Glad it worked out for you and good job!

I've lapped a couple of RCBS molds to get them to drop boolits better. I never needed anything but a mild abrasive to achieve the desired results.
