perhaps this should be combined with another thread but i did a search and didnt see one that was appropriate . ( i may have missed it )

anyways i was searching for something else and stumbled across this chart . we of course will disagree with some of their comments for usage ( especially for lead - " Not Suitable" :P ) but the melting temp as well as the casting temp is useful as mite some of the other information because in our search for pewter we'll possibly run across some of this stuff . and if it helps anyone then it is worthy IMHO .

PLZ note that tho listed in centigrade at the bottom of the chart is a
converter

edit for add new link same previous page ( the other link now leads to their main site )

Interesting. I checked the site, here's a pic from the homepage:

Lead is "Not suitable" for casting toy soldiers I guess!
Little crumbcrunchers might try to snack on 'em.
I wonder if the effect is neutralized if you use lead-based paint?;-)

lolz , prolly intensified :P i did note that when one added 10% ( i think ) tin to the lead it was then ok for their casting , while we have different umm purposes for our castings their's are cool too but the chart is kind of handy
