Never reloaded for this calibre before so need some help!! Have a few empties and some 200 RN J words I want to use. Thinking of 35 gr IMR 3031 to start. Shooting out of a modern Win 94. I can't find any data for IMR 3031 and this bullet.

Thanks,
Rich

Good morning
I would back down to 32 grains and work up. Looking at my old Speer #10 manual it lists 35 grains as a max charge in a Ruger #1 with a 235 grain "thangs".
I have a post 94 in 38-55 and have only shot 255 grain cast in it.

Agree with Missionary. Back off the charge to 30ish grs.

Toss them in the lead pot and pour 250-300 grain Boolits.

The 200 grain jacketed ar very likely 375 diameter as I ahve some. My Marlin is 377 but has shot 375 jacketed OK. The 200 grain were made for the Winchester Big Bore 94 in 375. I guess they would be efffective but the 38-55 is best used with a little heavier bullet. the Ranch Dog is 230 grains and most are 250+
