My old 4-banger 356402 has a wallered out spru plate screw hole. Not sure why this happened, maybe because I bought it over 40 years ago and use it a lot. Anyway, the Lyman repair kit has a standard hold down screw, but the problem is the corresponding hole in the mould. I can drill it out but what about an oversize hold down screw & proper size tap? Anything like that available, or is it "make it yourself" time ?

Hi Cherokee,
Usually at a Hardware Store you can get small pieces of machine tube.
Take the stock Lyman Screw and find the inside diameter tube that works best (i.e. tight, yet loose enough to still turn).
You can then find the outside diameter and simply cut and press the tube in.
It's best not to drill and tap the block unless there's no other choice. After all, it's the sprue cutter and not the hold down screw that's the problem.
