I was doing a little research tonight. Figured I share it. Got this info from Wikipedia...

MELT TEMP. AND BOIL TEMP:

LEAD (PB) ---------621.43------3180.0

TIN (SN)------------449.47------4716.0

ANTIMONY (SB)----1167.0----- 2889.0

ZINC (ZN)-----------787.15-----1665.0

This thread would be useful to the new casters. Lord knows I had no idea what temps the metals melted at when I first started at this stuff. Worthy of a sticky, in my opinion...

Well paladin, it is already a sticky! Just found it. Thats what I get for not checking this forum FIRST, before going elsewhere! Lesson learned!

the most interesting thing is the ALLOYS of those metals can melt at significantly LOWER temps that the singular metal.

How true. First thing that comes to my mind is Antimony.
