You are looking for "came" Many different sizes and shapes to be had . I do not know if one is cheaper than the others but I would assume that the smaller stuff would be more time consuming to produce ! Therefore more spendy ?

Go to the vendor section and look for "Masscaster" he had about 600lbs of it not too long ago and was selling it as 95/5.

I scavenged a bunch of came from a project couple of years ago. I cut the straight came away from the soldered joints with diagonal cutters. The came is about pure lead and the joints have a lot of tin/solder. I use the soft came in my ML boolits and use the joint/solder "coins" to help harden/mold fill anything that needs alloying. 10

It makes beautiful bullets, nearly pure lead if you are using scrap pieces w/ solder joints. Hit up a shop for their scrap or a place that does classes.

CAME is also made out of zinc so be careful.

I've run across the zinc stuff. Seems most of the newest "eco-friendly" came is made of that juck. A quick touch with a soldering iron will tell you right away.....

I got half a 5 gal bucket of old came from the recycler. It weighed about 40 lbs. Filled the smelting pot to overfill. Got it up to temp and about the top 2/3 of the pot was caulk used to waterproof the came joints. I got about 10lbs of soft lead. I figure I paid about $.85/lb for those ingots which is about 3 times normal.
