Anyone used Lyman 457676 Nose Pour Tapered

I have a new never used Lyman 457676, a nose pour tapered Paul Mathews design 45 mould. Has anyone used this mould and what were the results.

is it a flat point that might weigh 550 or so ? if so yes and it is a real good long range bullet
I does take a lot of elevaton but it sure shoots good , in a 45-70 I put 75 gns of 1F and compress so the bullet is 1/2 inch in the case.......

I had that one. It was too big to function in my Marlin 1895, so I sold it to Catshooter. He may still have it.
I still have a few of the boolits I made with it, too. Made from Lyman #2, the boolits would run around 550 gr., IIRC. If it was pure lead, it would run even heavier. The box said it was supposed to be 510 gr. with 20:1! :rolleyes: I sent pictures of it to Blaine Nay to list on Ol' Buffalo Bullet Mold Tables, so you can see it there. IIRC, it was somewhere around 452 up front, about 457 toward the middle and 460 at the base.

I have one that pours best 800*-810* with 20:1 or 790*-800* at 15:1. I have to run the spru plate just tight enough so it doesnt move when I mate the ladel and give it at least 5 seconds after the puddle freezes before I cut the spru. I have not got it to outshoot my postell yet but it is a work in progress. Mine is tapered so I get a little extra powder in it.

Charlie is correct in everything he says. I do indeed still have it. I just haven't hardly used it yet, sorry. It is a lovely mould though.
