im new to reloading and to forums.... i have precast bullets that are longer than what i was previously loading, how do i know when the bullets are seated so deeply that they change the pressures to dangerous levels?

If it's the same bullet and you aren't running max, just crimp the new one in it's crimp grove. You can also compare where your old bullet stops in the case and compare to where the new bullet would stop in the case.

If you're switching bullets weights you will have to look up data or ask for some data depending on what bullet you are loading. Some of the old bullets aren't listed in the new manuals.

Hopefully this helps you out a little, if not try and give a few more details and someone here will get you going.

Happy loading

Check bullet weight and fallow a known source for load data (ie) hornady spear or lyman. Lyman produces a cast bullet handbook which is a great resorce. This is usually the first place I go to start loading a new caliber. Good Luck
