I had a problem getting a crimp on my .334 boolit I use in my M95. It was too big to pass through the hole in the Lee seater/crimp die. Wanting to crimp it a little farther out, instead of on the top of the top driving band, I got an idea. Make my own Lee Factory Crimp die from Lee parts. It worked. I ordered two 338 Winchester FCD collets direct from Lee (in case I messed one up) and a medium FCD die body. With two Hornady die lock rings installed on a short FCD die body (for more reach while trimming), I removed .315 from the bottom of the collet with my bench sander/grinder.
Lee crimp body medium S13102 $8.00
Lee CMP collet 338 S13171 $9.00
Going slow, and frequent checking with a case in a shellholder will get it done.
