Seems pretty cool = I would buy it. If your asking if the price is good I guess that would depend on what you want to do with it. For a keeper is seems like a fair price to me.

Greetings
The case... I think real Pistol Pack came in a hard aluminum case. If this is the hard case that is about the going price for all those goodies.
DW is still the best value factory made shooting iron out there.
I have 6 calibers and would shoot them against any commer. A well set up DW were the winningest revolvers in the steel game and may still be.

I have owned a number of Dan Wesson pistols in the past and can remember one I have been disappointed with. I have always wanted a pistol pack but have never found one I could afford at that moment in time.

I want a 357 for 100-200 yard silouette shooting. Currently I am using a S&W 45colt 25-5.

I agree that this is about what the pistol packs are going for, but consider the new ones are going for about $1,100+ with just one barrel.

Depends on what you want to do with it. All my DW's are excellent shooters, and get shot alot. That looks like a 15-2 pistol pack and I'm sure if you decide to get rid of it you can get your money back. One of the guys on the DW Forum would buy it. Some of those fellas have awesome collections and if they knew of this deal one of them would snatch it up. I would buy it.

The guy still has the gun, all I want is the longest barrel and gun. Would anybody want to buy the other bareels etc. if I buy the whole works?

My sister has the pistol pack tha belonged to my Dad, just like this one. She wouldn't part with it for any reason.

I would keep the set together- it's worth more that way, should you ever change your mind and decide to sell it, and even if you never use the others, they are there again if you change your mind.
I don't know anyone who wouldn't regret that situation later!

Hers does not have any plastic grip sets- the wood one you have is original to the set, but hers also has a wooden combat grip. IMHO, not a very goodd grip at that- possiblly why yours has TWO plastic Hogue style included.

Would this be a good gun for 100-200 yard sihoette shooting?

If you can get the heavier boolits most use to not interfere with the operation/cylinder rotation, I would think so.
I'm not sure what is currently "in vogue", but nobody says you have to be like everyone else.

Since you want it for silhouette hold off and look for a DW 357 Max. The twist rate in the Max's handles heavy boolits better.

Believe me, the guys on the DW forum will buy the extra barrels. Matter of fact they will buy everything you don't want including the case, belt buckle, and wrench. There are collectors at DW that live to buy this kind of stuff.

Ok guys bought the DW 357 mag pistol pack. Now please help me with bullet selection for 200 yard silouette shooting. I also am wondering if the 8 inch barrel is sufficient or should I look for a 10".

I once had a 3" fixed barrel .357 DW. One of the most accurate handguns I ever owned. And also one of my biggest regrets, because like an idiot, I sold it years ago. It was a fantastic revolver, once you get used to the cylinder latch, anyway.

The RCBS 35-180 Sil. is one of the best .357 boolits for Sil. I shot 1000's of these in TC's, DW's and FA's, very accurate boolit. PM me your address and i'll send you some to try.

I just bought a 8" DW 15-2 and am wondering what the best front sight is to use. Also do you ever shoot these with scopes and if so what scope wuld you reccomend for a man on a budget.
The trigger seems quite a bit different than what I am used to with S&w's. Maybe I need to clean up and stone the works or possibly change springs to wolf springs?

Hey mugs, the twist rate is Barrel twist on the Wesson is the standard 1:18.7 in.

Mugs

With that twist you might not get it to shoot the 180's to 200 meters. I never could with a S&W with that twist. All you can do is try.

Howdy, I have a chance to buy a barrel for my 15-2 dw. I am wondering what twist rate is best for the 180 grainers?
