Also know as art, oh no! Found an old electric skillet that'd get hot enough to heat treat, my old gas oven has too much of a temperature swing. My oven thermometer said the skillet would get just a tad over 400. I sit my previously gaschecked bullets down in it, came back a few minutes later and had this wonderful piece of modern art. After it cooled, that is! Well, here we go again, guess I'd better cut back on the tin next go round.[smilie=b:

Time to start over. Looks as if you have clean lead to work with.

More lube on those would have added lots of pretty colors! I did it once too, don't feel bad.

I have an old gas grill I use for heatreating. Works great for me. Never use it for cooking out! Anyone ever use an old BBQ grill?

Sell it on e-bay. All you have to do is say it looks like the Virgin Mary and you'll make enough money to buy a few thousand pounds of lead!

My toaster oven maxes out at 450. Made a pan to fit out of hardware cloth 1/8 screen. Heat an hour grab with pliers, and dunk in cold water in sink. Works great.

My toaster oven died, gotta get my cousin to take a look at it. In the meantime, back to alloying, love that babbitt.
