Hello guys,
I'm planning to buy a Lee Sizing kit.I want to size cast bullets for 300 Win Mag, but I do not know which .308 or .309 kit to chose.:???:

0.309 minimum with the possibility of lapping it out to 0.310+ if needed. Besides slugging your bore, it is also a good idea to measure a fired case. You need to be on the plus side of the measured groove diameter, but that's when the boolit is in the rifling getting sized to fit. You have to get it there straight in the first place. Being a bit over groove while several thousandths under your throat and chamber's case neck diameter doesn't help things. I prefer to sized to what will safely chamber and let the bbl do its own sizing.

It also depends on what your accuracy goals are and what boolit designs you're willing to try. You may find that a .311" die produces the best results with bore riders. .310" is probably the best compromise for a first die but if it comes out a little rough (Lyman quality ain't what it used to be) you may find yourself polishing it out to .3105". I'd be more concerned about selecting an off the shelf mold these days that will drop a .310+" boolit.

P.S. It just occurred to me that you may not have a sizing/lubing press. Are you planning to pan lube or use the Lee liquid Alox method? Since there is no Lee .310" die available as a mass produced die, I would buy a .309 and a .311.

BABore,Marlin Junky,
You are right!
I haven't got a sizing/lubing press.I use a Lyman 311284 mold, but for another rifle with a .311 bore ride without sizing.(The quality of the mold is terryble - when I check the boolit hе hasn't got a real circle!)I read in the forum that this mold is ideal for a big range of rifles including 300 Win Mag.That's why I decided to try it on my Mauser M 96 300 WM.I did not slug the bore, but this is on operation, which will take me 10 minutes.

P.S. I use pan lube own recipe(50% bee wax, 35% paraffin, 10% lard, 3% casmoloid H80 and 2% part synthetic oil Liqui Moly with MoS2)
