My cousins father had a 45 Colt Hollow Base mold he used. I did not see the mold I am not sure but I believe it was one cavity and probably 250grains. I would ask him but he died many years ago. Any one have any idea who this mold might have been made by. I know he had it for many years and I am perty sure it was not a LEE it could have been an Ideal.

Does anyone currently make a Hollow Base in 45 Colt?

Lee does make a hollow base single mould that might suit: .454 diameter 298 grain Minie bullet (http://leeprecision.com/xcart/MOLD-454-298-M.html)

The old ideal 45468 was a hollow base light weight 185 gr. mould. I have a an old Ideal 454196 HB mould that measures only .456 but's a bit heavy at 300gr. ...geo

The mould looks like this, but maybe not as dusty:

This is a modification done by Erik to provide hollow base, gas check and plain base from one adjustable length mold.

I've been really tempted to get that one just to try it in .45 Colt ctgs.
