I am looking for advice refinishing my K31's. I want them to look like new.

I have refinished my other guns, stripping, sanding, then linseed oil, then furniture wax.

Is that the way to go to get the original look?:coffee:

Good post Ivan I'm interested in doing the same but wondering if I break the rifle down will I disturbed the bedding and or effect the accuracy of the K -31

I refinished the stocks of 2 K-31's using paint stripper (Use it outdoors and protect your eyes & skin!), water, several Scotch Brite pads (to reduce the tung oil finish: Use the white/finest ones) and tung oil (Polyurethane, and True Oil are also good) and it didn't affect accuracy at all. Speaking of which, check out the Swiss Rifles forum, specifically Pierre Ste. Marie's "sticky" on accurizing (sic) the K-31. It is very easy done.

Take a look before sanding for any cartouches and such you might sand off.
