Greetings
You would think Marlin would have caught on years ago and produced a thousand every couple years.

This is interesting,

The serial number of rosewood stocked fg is 970110xx.

Mine is 970107xx

Holy Moses, I just looked at the steel buttplate fg its within 20 of mine

I think atleast a couple of those rifles had stock switches !

I mean look at the box ends for the ones in rosewood and the curved buttplate rifle . They both say walnut and checkered yet neither is checkered .

Anyway I don't believe them to be factory original as you see them now !

Glad I got my .41 back in 89'. Traded a NIB CZ75 for it then when those were unattainable (stationed in Germany then).

I talked to the Marlin Reps at the SHOT Show several times about the .41 Marlins. I was told there would be no more of them, since they don't sell that well. One rep told me that for every .41 they sold, they sold 10 .357's. I also asked about one in Ballard rifling and was told the broach was approximately $20,000 and they wouldn't put that much into the .41. The price seemed a little high to me, but I'm not a machinist, either.

I've got three of the Marlin .41's. Two are unfired, and the one that is fired is the most accurate of all my Marlins. I would like to have a Cowboy in .41, but not at those prices.

Hope this helps.

Good morning
A Cowboy Limited Carbine is my model... Ranks right up there as my #1 favorite levergun.
It is one real handful with a 265 gr GC and a shout load of 1680.
