I bought a Begara barrel in 35 Whelen for my TC Encore and it has a really LONG throat. If I seat a 245 gn NOE 358318 just by the gas check (leaving 99% of the boolet ahead of the case) I can chamber the cartridge and the boolet won’t touch the rifling. I repeated that with all my 35 cal boolets and the only one that will touch the rifling is a 280 gn Lyman 358009. WTH? [smilie=b: I haven’t shot it yet, but doesn’t sound like the best accuracy scenario. Anyone deal with this kind of throat issue?
Edited to add: Now with some experimentation, this gun is taking rather well to paper patching. It's early yet, but things are looking up. More to follow.
