Drew, I have a 454424, and I need to cast some boolits from it, but it won't be until after deer season (next week).

Thank you Pepe Ray!

FourArmed - Thanks for the offer, but as you can see Pepe Ray already passed the info on.

Thank you both for the quick response.

Drew:

The Ideal/Lyman 454424/452424 "family" of bullets has a lot of variation in OAL. As you can see in the photo you can pick and choose just about anything you want from 0.667”-0.702” and band widths and lube grooves vary all over the place.

The bullet on the extreme right is the Catshooter Keith 452424 GB design from 45 2.1 to use as comparison. I bought two of the GB moulds and love the design ! :)

By visual comparason only, the sample that I measured is the 6th one from the left.
It's the only one/mold I've got and had it for 30 yrs +/-. Makes good boolets.

Pepe Ray:

I measured the 6th from the left at OAL=0.694" and 0.291" . That's pretty darn close to yours ! :)

That 454424 mould is stamped #556.

GLL - I needed the actual 454424 or 452424 to load into Quick Load so I could have a base line for 45 Colt chamber pressures for both original and Ruger pressures.

Which by the way I came up with 15,000 PSI and 25,000 PSI with loads listed in the Lyman 48th edition.

Thank you again Pepe Ray for the measurements.
