Hi Guys, I have a 10" Ruger SBH. Shooting a Lyman 215 gr GC. Got any super good pet loads?
It would be greatly appreciated!
Wanting to use her this fall deer hunting.
Thanks in advance for your input.

Terry, that is a very good cast bullet, I have some very experienced friends who swear by it. The good thing is, with that GC you can somewhat soften the alloy & still drive it very fast, plus you will get some expansion on deer.
I've mostly used the 250 gr Keith slug in my 10" Ruger, its taken deer & bear using 22 grs of 2400 (Hercules) with great results. If you are using the newer Alliant you might want to reduce at least one grain.
Since your slug is lighter than mine the above load would certainly be safe in your gun & very fast!

I can't help with that light of a boolit. I never had that much luck with them when I tried them long ago.
I don't think the .44 comes into it's own until 240 gr and 250 is better.
I top out with 330 gr as my heaviest boolit. I really like the 265 gr RD.
If I had some to play with I would be inclined to not shoot them super fast. Find some lighter loads with different powders and work the velocities up slowly to find what speed it works best at.
What you want to look for is where the twist rate has a good match to the velocity.
