Looking for options on this boolit design.

400grs with 70% meplat the nose lenght is .500" over all lenght .906", the bands are equal lenght.
The plan is to make a hunting boolit for 100 yards and in for my 480. The mold material will be brass :)
What do you all think?
Thanks Warf

Looks fine to me. I might go to 75% meplat to shorten the nose a little.

What nose length would you go with?
If I put a 75% meplate it only makes the over all length of the boolit shorter by .011" doesn't alter the nose length.
The nose length is your choice I picked the .500" because it looked good nothing to do with preformace.
Here is the boolit with a .450" nose with the same 70% meplate. The over all length is now .902"

I'm sorry Warf I forgot how the program worked (at least the one on MM site). The one with the .450 nose is the one that I am usually used to working with. The bearing surface ahead of the crimp groove is slightly longer. I am slightly biased as I have been a fan of Verals for a long time and favor a sturdy driving band ahead of the crimp groove.

Which one Lloyd the .500" nose or .450"?
