Smith and Wesson Model 29!! My cuz bought a 29-3 on GunBroker a couple of weeks ago, and I transferred it for him so I got to fondle it a bit before he got it. Told him if he wanted to sell it to let me know and I'd give him his $540.00 back for it! Well...he can't see as good as he used to...so, I'm getting it! It's gonna be a good shooter, and it's about a 98-99% gun,..locks up tight and has a nice looking set of Goncalo Alves grips on it. Hello KEITH BULLETS!!! and GOODBYE pond turtles!! Ahhh...2400 and cast lead....my favorite combo! I feel like a school kid!

Yur gonna' love it--I have 4 --29-2's, 2--29-3's and a 29-5 5" Classic. The 8 3/8" 29-3 is scoped and I love shooting it at 100 yards--makes the boys at the range take notice. They sure do wreck Bambi's day also.

Have fun and enjoy it.

My first was a six inch version I bought in 1985 , it wasn't to many years later I found a four inch new in the box from the early seventies . I believe that my six inch revolver has some type of contagion because it was responsible for at least three men buying model twenty-nines as well . The last man I remember hearing him say after firing mine " Ah got's to have me one o' dem !! " But then when you are on the firing line with a forty-four on each side of you , the thirty-eight you're firing just doesn't seem as tough as you once thought .

I know there are bigger guns with more horsepower but the biggest critters around here ( except the nieghbors prize bulls ) are whitetail deer . I have sent a cast hollowpoint through two feet of muscle and bone , and they stop what they are doing an pay attention to me from then on ...... every time .

I bet you like the twenty-nine .

Congratulations on the score! I still have a couple of 29s and have no intention of ever getting rid of them....

Post up some pics when you get it in your hands.

I have had a number of 29s over the year, and just gave my last 6 incher to my son. But, I still have a 1991 vintage 629 with a 5" bbl. It is the most accurate sixgun I have owned in my life.

ia1727...are you serious? 7 model 29's? you rock. There's a 6 1/2" 29-2 at my local dealer for $650. It looks in fine shape, supposedly recently refinished at Smith. I've been mighty tempted by this revolver, but I thought... I already have 6 44's, do I really need another? I don't have a mighty 29. Maybe I do.

Congratulations! N-frames are a thing of beauty and a joy to shoot.

When you tire of the top end loads, consider trying the good old 429421 over
10 gr Unique or 9 gr of PowerPistol. Should run about 1050 - 1100 and is easier
on the wrists, ears and pocketbook, but anything standing in front will never
know the difference.
