Fe is the chemical sign for steel, so if I'm correct they are steel weights, good for scrap iron. Fom

I think Fe is iron, steel is an alloy of iron and carbon. save them and your WW clips and turn 'em in at your recycle center for a few bucks...

Yes, Fe is iron, FeO2 is iron oxide (rust)

Last batch of raw wheel weights I bought turned out nearly 50% Fe.
Began wondering if we are nearing the end of an era of readily available casting material?
I bought them at a buck a pound, sold them for 18 cents. I think I need a bigger truck.

I stand corrected. I sometimes confuse iron and steel. Fom

Go to Harbour Freight and buy the large magnet that is mounted on a telescopic pole. Mine comes in very handy when shopping WW's. It also does quite well when sorting out the Fe's. They are becoming more and more of them in my hunts.
