A few years ago a friend gave me almost all the parts to build a NM Wad-cutter .45 ACP Pistol. It has a NM USGI slide, barrel with fitted bushing and all USGI parts except for the hammer and sear. The sighting system is a Bo-Mar full rib with 2" extended front sight. The entire pistol including gunsmithing cost me $450.00. I will only be shooting wadcutter lead cast bullets in this pistol. 200 gr H&G 130 .45 semi-wadcutter bullets with 3.9 gr Bullseye. AS soon as the pistol is shipped, I will send photos and a report on accuracy. The 'smith says it shoots 1-7/8" with 10 shots at 50 yards in the Ransom Machine rest. I can hardly wait to get my hands on it. This project has been ongoing for 4 years.

Doug it sounds like you have a winner, coming. Congratulations! I have a couple of built up 1911's (one of them has 100,000 rounds through it) and they can be dern near WONDERFUL!

A good 1911 is the best pistol ever built!
