I was at the range with the 280 this weekend. It is an older rebarrelled 98 Mauser with a long throat. I laoded 3 bullets the 287405 louverin,flat nose bumped on it with a 8 top punch, RCBS 145 Sil and the 7mm soup can. All were shot over 57 gr of WC860 which has been great in the 06 and medium weight boolits. The 405 was on paper @ 50 yards, that is the best I can say about it. The soup can grouped but showed horizontal dispersement. It easily could have been shooter error, our range faces East and gets windy around 10-30 AM so serious work is done early. THe RCBS shot with in 1" and 1 3/8" for 2 5 shot groups. This one definately will get more work.
