I've been looking at most of my military collection and I'm thinken that the .308 mold I have would cover just about all of them. Just adjust the patch and it should shoot. I cast a 200grain bullet so the bulk is there for most calibers, it's just finding a load it shoot well with. Quite a veritile size. My next adventure is going to be a Lee #4 Mark 1, I think. I've been watchen the .303 Guy and sucking up what he has to say. I think it will be a fun rifle to add to the collection.

I have a few 30 cals too. 1 or 2 boolits can be managed into all of mine. Its the sizers that are troublesome. With bores from .300-305 , grooves from .308-316, and throats that I can barely get a 301 nose in too one that likes a long 318 nose . Then there's the grooves all 2,4 and 6,and the twists, with their own quirks.

I'm looking forward to getting started on the 8mm/32s as well 1 of them may well wind up being a tight 338 .

Good shooting!

I have this thing with heavy cast boolits. They just seem so right. Uses up a lot of lead though. Seems to me that I can drive a heavy 208gr almost as fast as a lightweight 180gr and get better down-range impact velocity. Wouldn't want to do those turkeys short! (There are some pigs and deer in mind too).

My up-coming challenge is going to be to get my mint bore two-groove to shoot with patched boolits. I suspect that the two-groove would work better with light-weight 180grs due to the shape of the throat. It's a simple one degree taper from the neck chamfer to the bore.

I have already established that my BSA & M carbine shoots very well with my prefered 208gr hollow nose castings (1¾" at 100m with open sights). Those just don't fit the two-groove.:(

I tend to subscribe to 303Guy's way of thinking. 'specially for hunting.

I know, I know..... I have read where lighter boolits kill very effectively.

but I want to find the "Majik" boolit to use for ALL game.

and the moose up where I have been known to hunt are almost as big as BullShop's moose

Mine works well with the Lyman 311446 sized .3015 and patched back up with 16# printer paper.
