Here is my newest wheelgun addition. Ruger SS Bisley 45 dual cylinder with a 5 1/2" barrel.

Supposed to be a dealer exclusive which does not really mean squat to me.

$549 + tax out the door. Felt like a good deal.

Just in time to break in that new MP "Ruger Only" mold that I waited so long for!!

Nice looking revolver!!!

I really thought hard on a 45 Colt/45 ACP Bisley or even a 45 Colt Super Black Hawk Hunter but later chose a Casull. Still wished I had a 1:16" twist barrel though.

Shooting is going to be placed on hold for the time being with the new wheelgun.

Ruger has still not corrected the throating problem with the 45 Colt. Have four throats at .447 and two at .449.

Going out Monday in the mail to Cylindersmith for correction.

Glad I have two other 45 Colt's that I can use.

Well that definatley is a Ruger 45 colt. I can't believe Ruger done this, but after it's said and done it'll be a keeper. Did you have a chance to check the barrel out yet?

Is it nib? I thought those were Accusport guns from about 10 years ago. Had a chance to steal one once and had holes in my pockets.

williams shooters supply has them as one of their exclusives. I just got one, but it is 45 colt only. They were out of the dual cylinders. mine needs opened too. They are a distributor out of Quincy, Illinois.

Maybe the handiest, most practical gun every made right there.

That is a great looking gun, pity about the throats, but still, after it is fixed, that will be a great shooter. I cannot say if that was a great deal in the US, but over here in Oz, you would probably get a visit from Police after paying that little for a new Ruger!:kidding:

That looks very tempting, and a good price too. I have a 5.5" older 45LC that I picked up in a trade recently and am very happy with it. I have not checked the throat size, but it shoots great. I think it is late 1990s vintage.

Really was wanting to go out and shoot the Bisley with some boolits dropped from the new MP "Ruger Only" mold. Going to have to wait.

Still have a Redhawk hunter in 45 colt that I can try them out in.

Redhawk Hunter is good as well; if you have time and can post a pic it would be cool as I've not seen to many of them and never in real life............only 44's.

Fine looking Ruger there Sir!!!

The dual cylinder is a 'cool' touch as well. While I don't currently own any single actions (other than 1911's), I've often handled the Bisleys and the sure do tempt me.

RobS, just for you.

Top to bottom.

45 Colt
44 Mag
41 Mag
357 Mag, this is the only one that is not a hunter model. Does have a 7 1/2" barrel. Not milled for factory rings.

3 of the 4 wear Herrett's Roper grips.

I want one with a 7.5" barrel to go with my Vaquero.

You would think Ruger would learn to make their cylinder throats the correct size.

I too believe that those guns were made some time ago, and are not representive of current production.

Nice gunporn, for sure! A shame about the throat issue, but it is easily remedied. The reaming made a world of difference in my blue-steel BisHawk x 45 Colt. In contrast, a recently-bought BH in 30 Carbine I snagged is about as dimensionally perfect as can be. Shoots like it, too!

The individual that I purchased the weapon from bought all the dealer exclusives in this make and caliber that Williams Shooter Supply had. It is NIB and the spent casing in it is marked with a December 2010 date.

They sure are pretty looking wheelguns!!!

Garcia, That picture is off one of the auction sites. Ive been eyeballin' one of those bisley 45s for at least 6 months. 5 1/2 barrel is ok , wish it had a 4 5/8 barrel. Just bought two 44 mags in the last two months, a Abilene and a JP Sauer, maybe one of those rugers next :drinks:

GARCIA;
Without question, those Bisley SS .45 Colt/.45 ACP Convertibles are some of the most versatile revolvers ever built. Here is mine with the .45 ACP cylinder:

http://i269.photobucket.com/albums/jj80/Dale53/DalesPistolsRevolvers4Selects-0386.jpg

I had to ream both cylinders but after reaming both shoot extremely well.

I predict a long love affair between you and your new revolver!!:drinks:
