Garand problems

I have been shooting M1s for years and have virtually had to rebuild a couple due to wearing out the barrels (I used to shoot High Power). I have recently added another M1 to my collection. It shoots well with J and cast bullets but it has an annoying habit of tossing the clip and last one or two rounds out of the gun. I suspect it has either a ward clip holder or spring but there are a couple other possibiliities. What do all of you think it may be. By the way this M1 is a six didget pre-WWII one.:???:

A new spring for the clip latch may work and is normally the cheapest . The rifle may be out of "time" and a timing gage can determine that . If it needs internals the first one to look at is the bullet guide . There are many part fits to look at though .

Thats what I thought now I have to call Bill Ricka to see if he has the parts.
