ok so i was thinking a bit and the RSS look just about right for this.

you could use 1 or 2 lead round balls of .500 cal will be about 188gr each in pure lead.

or 1 .500" hardened steel ball for some nasty penetration.

of corse this would be for smooth bore guns and the steel one sould only be used
in a smoothbore with cylinder bore.

the lead one could be used in a muzzleloading shotguns too with 1 or 2 balls
with the sabot on top of card wads for it never touch's the the plastic.

camerl,

Search this forum for a thread by me. My brother shoots a 20 gauge H&R single shot rifle, three .626 balls out of Mag-Tec brass. Quite the round.

Hello Camerl, you could use RSS12 with a round ball but if you put the RB in the sabot you will notice that the petals are quite stiff compared to BLS 12 sabots.
If you were to fire them through a rifled barrel, the spin imparted by the rifling will be enhancing separation, but with smooth bore you need sufficient velocity for the air to peel back the petals for a clean separation! The BLS 12 were softer
and Bigsmitty had been shooting .520" RB that I had sent him with good accuracy up to 65 to 70 yards!

guys im trying to up the FPS by using one ball of lead or steel in a smooth bore

you would gain some fps and drop the PSI with 1 roundball
