The little brown truck of happiness dropped off a package from Mid-South Shooters Supply yesterday, a new Lyman 452460 mold and some RCBS stuff. Prepped and degreased the mold last night and began casting with it this morning and...WOW! 20lb. of very nice boolits, the boolits fill out perfectly, and measure .453-.454. Maybe I just got lucky, didn't have to adjust the pins, just the sprue plate. I'm pleasantly surprised, it does better than my old Lymans and Ideals.

I wonder how that one got out of the factory...

I guess even a broken clock gets it right twice a day. Congratulations on getting a rare one from Lyman.

Nice to hear that someone got a decent Lyman mould for once.
The 452460 is a great boolit also. My 1991A1 loves it with 3.8 grs. of Bullseye pushing it.

I have a number of new and old Lyman moulds that cast just fine.

I bought at least 3 over the last year (311679, 311644, 311299) and they were all good! Lyman is using a thicker sprue cutter than in past years, and I do appreciate that. I've always thought their alignment pins to be on the small side, but they work.

After getting a pretty good 311299 last year, (.301 nose and .311 driving bands) I figured I would give them a try on the 452460. Glad I did.
