When I melt or cast I always stand. What do you guys do and why?

i sit when casting , i use a draftsmens adj height chair. when melting a 100lb pot of alloy up with the propane turkey frier, i stand when working and sit when its melting. bob

I tend to stand for everything, some times I sit while loading but not very often

Standing only for me. If an accident happens nothing liquid or hot can land in your lap. Also easier to get away if standing.

Stand. When I cast boolits, I usually start when the wife leaves for work and put everything away before she gets home (she can't stand the smell of flux or anything that produces smoke). Usually she is gone between 9-10 hours and sitting down is a must.

If I'm casting bullets I'll be sitting with the Pro-melt on the very strong bench . I keep it just below eye level which has the lead stream just about right to watch . If I am rough melting scrap in the propane pot . I do that standing ....... no way I'm gonna make a bench to hold up six hundred pounds of lead plus pot weight .
