I didn't know where else to put this. I have two boxes of this brand bullets which were given to me a few years ago. The price tag on them is $1.95 so they are probably kinda vintage. They are 154 grain "plinker' bullets for .30 caliber and mic at .311. No lube groves but they have a slick feeling coating and are quite soft. I've shot a few in a 30-30 and if the velocity is much over bb gun speed they will lead the bore. Do I have the only boxes still in existance or has someone else seen these?

IIRC - Cabelas and a couple of others carried them years ago.

AS I remember, green plastic flip top box, dry lubed with some kind of graphite type lube, bullets had no grooves and maybe a cupped base. I sent a few down range...........Nothing magical.

Those are kind of vintage. If I remember right, Ed Harris did some work with them, and might have some data on loading them. Low velocity loads were the rule since they were a bit sensitive to leading, and I think that is why demand dried up.

Alberts was pretty big in the early to mid 80's. I went through several 500 count boxes of their 32 WC. Nothing special, just good quality swaged boolits. I remember the Schuetzen boolits being advertised.

These are in cardboard boxes. Red and white labels.

"Reduced Load Roundup" in one of the Handloader's Digests (can't remember which one) gave load tables for .30 Carbine, .30-30 WCF, .308 WCF and .30-'06 and the Schuetzenplinker bullet. Harris also did some tests in The Fouling Shot. I think one of the trials was in a .32 S&W Long bunny gun.

I wish the company was still in business. I still have one of their brochures.

It was an Ed Harris thing. He used them in a 32 SW long in a rifle and called it the 32 Long rifle.I have a few samples left from some time ago.i shot a few and they did well with 7g of BE in the 30-06.If they were still available i'd buy them.

Alberts bullets originated as "Taurus Bullets" and sold under that name for several years until litigation by Taurus Firearms caused them to change their name. I shot up several hundred of them in moderate 44 Special loads with nary a problem. I still have a few on the shelf.

They also were the original manufacturer of the "Hydro-Shok" bullets, I have a partial 500 rnd box of them.

I never tried the 30cal, but did shoot some 9mm/38s. I may have some 41s here. There was a vendor at a recen gunshow that had a box of (500) Hydrashocks on the table for sale. The originals were upside down HBWC with a post in the center.

I have a couple thousand of these (44 and 38) my dad gave a couple of years ago. They are great for "Cowboy Action Shooting". Never had trouble with leading.

They originally where "Taurus" bullets.

Those Alberts Bullets are the first LEAD bullets I loaded. They were pretty cheap, I was mail ordering them a couple boxes at a time. I still have a 1000 of em on the shelf in .30 Cal. .
They worked really good in my Savage 24V (.30-30 X 20GA ) single shot. I don't recall my loads ,but I'm sure I used Unique and Blue Dot...I had excellent accuracy for a "Heavy Plinker"....
I always used a little Toilet Paper "filler" in my light loads of pistol powder, I never had any leading to speak of..... "PJ"

32 long rifle huh. I'm currently messing with a 32 H&R mag in a 21 1/2" TC rifle barrel with 155gr lead rifle bullets. I've worked up loads with AA #2 and #5 and was moving on to #7 and #9. It says Ed harris used 11gr of Reloader 7. I'll have to give it a try. I wonder if it will even fit in the case?

found the search, typed in 32 H&R and found little relevant information. Do you have a link to the post you are talking about?

Nope, 11gr of Rl7 will not fit in a 32 H&R case under a 311291 seated to touch the lands hard. But 10gr will if you use a drop tube! I'll have to go shoot it when the sun comes out. At least our forcast of 5" to 9" of snow turned out wrong.
