Be careful with a RN bullet in a tubular magazine..I have a USRA 94AE and use RN cast bullets in it, but only as a single shot. Green Dot should work well for you.

Tite Group is a great powder for the .44 Mag.

For heavy .44 mag loads in a Ruger carbine, H-110 was the hands down winner. I got 1" groups at 50-yards with iron sights & velocity deviations of less than 50fps over an entire string of fire. 240 & 300 grain flat points shot equally well. I haven't tried a Rossi carbine though.

The fast powders like TiteGroup & the dots will probably limit you to low/medium power loads. I've never used 4831.

Red Dot is too fast for anything other than light loads. Titegroup, in my experience is the same. Green Dot is a medium-fast powder, not much different from W231, so you can get medium loads with it, but not something that will beat revolver loads... 4831 is waaaaaay too slow for 44 Mag.

I'm afraid, if you want truly high-performance loads for your carbine, you're going to have to buy another can of powder. Medium-slow powders that would work good would be something like Blue Dot, HS-6, Herco, AA#7, and several others I'm forgetting off the top of my head. But for the max performance, I'd recommend you go with either Alliant 2400, AA #9, or H-110/W296 (same powder, sold by two different companies).

H110 or 2400 will do what you want.

BTW- get a recoil pad. Those little 92 clones tend to let you know when you send a hot load downrange.

In my Marlin with a 20 inch barrel likes most any boolit over 2400 for moderate to heavy loads. For lighter loads I like Unique.
A Keith style swc of 250 grs over 20-21 grs of 2400 depending on your gun, gets about 1600 to 1700 fps. Good stout load.
8.5 grs of Unique under the same boolit gets around 1200 fps. Both shoot well. The same loads under your 240 gr RN should be comparable.

7 gr Green dot is my plinking load in a revolver. With a 250 gr boolit it gives me about 1000 fps. My Rossi liked 20+ gr of WC820, a surplus powder resembling AA9 for warmer loads. .
