Just ruined a C329-205-r1 mold trying to remove the gas check shank. It was lapped and Beagled dropping .336-.337 and I sized them to .334. In anticipating a chance of failure I had ordered a new mold. But I think I would like to use it at
.329 with a paper patch to .336. My M95 has a .3315 groove diameter. Is .336 too much do you think?

I'd say if the .336 fits the throat it'll be good to go.

Just checking my math - .329 to .336 is going to take some sizing. That means more sizing as the boolit gets fired. A great thing about an un-sized patched boolit is there is plenty of give in the patch to hold tight in the neck. Not sure that it matters if you lose that through sizing.

What is your bore diameter? That is where I always start when paper patching. The bore diameter determines the diameter of the as-cast bullet to start with.

I am gonna watch this thread close!
I have 5 of them and shoot the 338 old feller cast boolit from babore in them.
Hadn't thought about P/P yet. Hmmmm

Measured with a dial caliper on my slug, I get .315 groove to groove on one side and just a bit less on the other. I don't have a mic that can get in there, and my biggest gage pin is a .310+.

Expand the bore riding nose till it will just slip into the muzzle and mike that.

How do I do that? Not sure if I could 'bump' this alloy, (19bhn). Flatten with a hammer a bit?

A vice works good for me.
