Being somewhat new at this addiction and short on supplies.

At a yard sale, I found a ingot of lead. It is mould marked ALPHA, on the back it is hand stamped lead cake. It also has a paper sticker that says 5 lb plummer's lead.

It can be marked with the thrumb nail with some pressure.

Is anyone familiar with this type of product ?

Thanks for a help

Sounds like 5 pounds of plumber's lead, a near pure lead ingot sold back in the day of cast iron drain pipe. The peices of pipe were fitted together. Then okum, a fiberous material was driven into the joint, then moulten lead was poured on top the okum.

It could be ultra pure pre-nuclear lead.
It sounds like pure lead anyway , nuke or not.

Thanks for the replies. I will save it, to be used with a harder lead mix.
