I just got these in a trade. See photo. Cases are primed with what appears to be standard WSP primers but cases are COPPER!! When were these made and for what... Govenrment, special run, foreign contract??

During the 60's and 70's, all Winchester Special Run items were given a Q code, which meant they weren't a regularly manufactured item. I was told this by the Vice President of Winchester Ammunition when I was trying to get the Treasury Load as our duty ammunition in 1978. The Treasury load also had a Q code assigned to it.

Hope this helps.
