I made my boolit too long and had to mill .025" off the top of the mould.

You build that vise your self or is store bought?

If the average Joe wants to take a bit off a mold top does a nice tight vice and parralel bars not work ?

I built the vise from two cast iron risers I bought from a foundry.
Yes, you can mill the tops from any good vise, you only need the double acting vise for the cherry.
