Local shop has one in 25-20, in fair shape, decent bore, but wood has been refinished.

What is this thing worth?

Thanks

Here is the link describing the details of condition of some I recently found before buying one-

http://www.gunsinternational.com/Winchester-1892-Takedown-25-20-1898-

Production.cfm?gun_id=100123911

I viewed this site to get an idea of cost of take down rifles-

http://merzantique.com/catalog_C0_10_1.php

Then I checked other places cast boolits; gunbroker; Guns America, etc.
I was not fortunate to locate the rifle I wanted in a local gun shop.
The one I located cost around $ 2300.00 Take down 1892 25-20 bore was rated 7.5 on 10 scale. The metal and wood were good+. Rifle was not abused. I am considering having the barrel relined. Not as good as I really wanted but I wouldn't spend $ 5000.00 for one that was slightly better.

Hope this helps. If you do not buy it, please send me a PM with details of the rifle and shop location.
Good luck!

The NRA gunsmithing guide had an article on how to make a '92 take-down.
Make sure you are looking at a factory job before you drop big $$.
