Wondering if anyone has used the new Lee Auto Prime XR tool. I love the original (have worn out 2). Just hope Richard hasn't unnecessarily reinvented the wheel. Just in case the tool is not as good as the original- does anyone know of a vendor selling "old model" Auto Primes???

Haven't used the new model yet, but it definitely needed to me redesigned. I went through handles on my original like match sticks until I made my own from a piece of billet aluminum. The handle on the new one looks much stronger and I think will be much better. I would get one if I hadn't already beefed mine up.

I got the new one after the link on my old one broke. I like the new square tray - you can just pop a new box right in there with no shaking. There seems to be slightly less leverage than the old one, but that could be my imagination. There is a new safety feature that prevents clipping the primers. I think it's worth a try for you.

I like the old style RCBS my self, the one that takes standard shell holders. It's a lot easier on my atrhritic hands.

i have the new tool and the angle of the handle make priming quite hard.Old tool is better.I will stock up on the old style while still available myself.

I had one took it back to basspro . You have to hold it at the right angle to get it to work.Found a older one new on e-bay.

My primer is from my Dad who pasted 25 yrs ago .He had it at least 10 yrs earlier. The trays would rotate off. I fixed it by using small c pins. Still works great

The boy broke my old one last night. Think I`ll try to fix it first. Thanks for the info.
