Does anyone have experience with this new model. I have one on order but have not received it yet. I did call Ruger for bore and grove diameters and was told the tolerance range was .303-.305 for bore diameter and .314-.316 for grooove depeth. Has anywho measure the barrel on this model.

The question is do I order one of NOE's 316365 molds now while they are availabe. This seems to be a very large bore.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated.

I just got to work, and I'm trying to catch up with the day's posts.

I bought my #1 in .303 last summer, but medical troubles have prevented much research as yet.

My NOE 316299 is a four-cavity model, and works VERY well. The noses of the water-dropped straight-wheelweight bullets mike out at .304", and the bands run in the .315" area.

The nose diameter is large enough that it will NOT fully enter the muzzles of any of my three .303 rifles (which span almost a century of manufacturing). The #1 rifle seems notably tighter at the muzzle than the older (1914, 1955) Lee Enfields.

The dimensions of the 316299 seem to be workable for your rifle; perhaps a note to Swede Nelson would clarify the sizes of the 316365 that you're interested in.

A few people on the Canadian Gunnutz forum have slugged their barrels and have measured .314

I also have one on order...

Cheers!
