Does anyone have experience with the Saeco #257 in the 25-06, or similar cases? My 700 Mountain Rifle spends most of its time in the safe, and I want to change that. Other suggested molds for the 25-06?

My .257 Roberts does very well with CBE's 25790 and 10gr H110. It does well with other powders too, but H110 is good enough that I haven't really been tempted to change. I use it for the offhand matches at the CBA, so sub moa groups with good iron sights are quite sufficient.
The only caution with this bullet is that it casts .257. If you don't have a tight bore( mine is .255) there is a very similar design available that's fatter.
Best to dicuss it with Jim Allison, the maker. He's very pleasant to deal with and makes a good mold.

Don't shoot a 25 but from looking at the book. I'd go with the RCBS 120 grain bullet due to the higher B.C. of .272 vs .141 for the 100 gr Saeco. Plus the 25-06 is plenty of case capacity to handle the heavier bullet so you may as well. That said I’ve the Saeco #243 and like it a lot.

Lyman’s new 4th edition book has loads for both the Saeco and RCBS 25 caliber bullets.

I hear where you're coming from with the safe queens. I picked up a couple moulds for my 270 Win so I'd actually shoot it. It’s simply no fun to shoot with full power loads. Plus the 22 cents per J bullet.
