I bought a quantity of Isotope Lead a few months ago. The ones I got are cylinder shaped enclosed at one end. Some are encased in a rigid plastic cover, others have a glossy paper double-sided taped to the outside of the lead. It seems quite soft (scatches with thumb nail), not much if any harder than the sheet lead I use for my Minies & BP conicals.
It fills the molds out real well, the bullets weigh right up there with my sheet lead ones, but the diameter is consistently .002" smaller. Another characteristic I've noticed, is that when I tap the handle pivot point the sprue will often break free before I cut it off. Any idea what alloy this might be close to?
