What are they made of? Copper, Steel, guilding metal?

Should make a good 30 cal gas check!

CCI info says

Brass primer cup matches the look of original military primers.

I guess this means it's copper and would work for half jackets for say a 30 carbine bullet?

I seen die set that used bmg primers to make 25acp bullets. I think the key is finding a good supply of fired primers.

Get that and I think a guy could use them for something

Ummmmmmmmmmmmm I have 1.5 fifty five gallon barrels FULL of 50 BMG brass. Never thought about even trying to use them.

Have to come up with a way of removing a few primers. They won't fit in any presses that I have.

Send them to me and I will send you back the primers. :)

Here is what I hope to make from the 50 cal primers.

Bullet on far left is around 90 grains and should work great in a 32 H&R or 30 Carbine. We shall see. Pictured with a 175 grain 308 Seirra MK for compare

Duke I could prolly make you a punch like the Lee loader uses to knock them out with a hammer. We would just need to find out the flash hole size and rim diameter.

I was thinking of using them to form a sort of gas check for 308. win

Yep I think that would work. Of course I Have no experience with GCs but the theory and numbers look good.

I actually already have a Freechex III tool for making the 30 caliber gas checks from copper or aluminum.

So, I'm all set with that. I also have the .500 S&W Magnum size of the same tool, and also a 44 mag version. Too bad it doesn't make deeper cups (1/2 jackets....)
