I have a bunch of old Lee molds and most of them are out of production. The official Lee website only lists current production codes. Is there a place I can get a list of out of production Lee mold codes and what they stand for?

Thanks.

Lee is pretty straight forward with their numbers. The mold number contains a description of the bullet. What molds do you have?

The older Lee mould numbers had nothing to do with the boolits they cast.

Ok, I was wrong, learn something new every day. Lee uses a mold number and a product number. You buy it by the mold number and the box has that number printed on it. The mold on the other hand is stamped with the product number. Using this sort of logic it sounds like Lee is really run by the government, not private industry.

I emailed Lee a few weeks back asking if they did have a list, There answer was its listed in our site or catalog. Not the answer I wanted, all the Lee molds I have are stamped with there production number not the id code stamped on them. The list in the referanced post does help but it may not be complete as it is 3 years old. Maybe we can get it updated or some one from Lee who see's this can get a true compiled list from there design office to assist ther loyal users who may bay used molds a better ref than a tape measure allows at the store or show table.

Thank you for the link to the Lee list, it's exactly what I was looking for. In case it's of any interest, here is a list of the Lee molds I was able to i.d. Any comments would be appreciated:

90316 DC C358-105-SWC

90309 DC 356-125-2R

90393 SC 50CAL-250

90336 DC C429-214-SWC

90441 SC 454-141-RB

90467 SC 450-294-M

Do you suppose the 450-294-M would be an acceptable boolit for the .455 Webley revolver? I know the official weight is 265, but I seem to recall that Lyman once sold a hollow base mold listed as casting 290 gr. boolits for the .455 Webley.

shaune509,

Lee precision has no interest in used moulds, it is of no financial interest to them. They already sell moulds a price point that is pretty low. If I were in there shoes, I would not entertain releasing a big list either, come to the manufacturere and buy a new mold is what the mould makers best interest is. It is just business.

I used an old midway cast bullet catalog to find numbers that were not in the above mentioned thread. The numbers are there, you just have to do some digging to find those you may need.

Why not just cast some boolits?

The first two on your list are my most used molds. The 358-105-swc is not only very accurate in my S&W 19, but it conserves a lot of lead due to the light weight. The recoil is a lot less too. I use the .356-125-2R in my sons 9mm AR15, that rifle can use up a lot of lead with its 32 round magazine. I'm still playing with it slowly in my Glock 26 and my results look promising. I haven't seen any lead left in the barrel yet, but I want to make sure before I go shooting several hundred rounds at a time.

I mark my Lee's with a permanant marker on the handles...30-113, 358-150 etc.
