i saw a thread on here how to fix a leaky lyman 45 piston, but now cant find it.
anybody know fixes, or the right thread?

are you sure you dont have the piston upsidedown? that is easy to do

if the old style brass collared piston it's way easier and cheaper just to buy a new one from lyman ... the ones from the 450 and 4500 fit just fine

When you say leaking, do you mean leaking UP around the top of the brass piece? Thats the only leakage I experience with both of my 45s. I get very thin "ribbons" of lube sitting on top of the piston. When I refill the reservoir I just drop these in, on the bottom of the new lube stick.

it leaks out the top, but a real thick ribbon, wayyyy too much.

There a common size found at most hardware stores .

its the old brass ring kind.
